Imagine a heavy lifting project that would take a typical crane a month or more to complete. The Kaman K-1200 K-Max is a little helicopter with a lot of power. The K-Max can complete a heavy lift job in only matter of hours. This kind of efficiency decreases the critical resources of time and money.
HX is privileged to be one of only five companies in the United States that operates the Kaman K-max, a one-seat, zero-passenger American helicopter that can lift almost twice as much as similar helicopters using similar engines. In fact, we are the only company to have one in the southeast. Of the exclusive 38 K-max helicopters that were initially on the market, only 17 of them remain available for use, and HX has been the proud owner of one of those.
The K-Max was certified in 1994, but Kaman ceased production of the aircraft in 2003; however, now ten more of these sought-after helicopters are in production and scheduled to begin delivery in the second quarter of this year. HX is among the short, elite list of companies who will be receiving the intermeshing-rotor aircraft. In fact, we will be getting two of them to add to our fleet.
The K-max can lift up to 6,000 lbs, with the potential for an increased lift with fuel reduction and in lower elevations. Read more about the new Kaman K-1200 KMAX production, at AIN Online’s article: Kaman Readies Renewed K-Max Deliveries.
